Ayaz-Kala is located about 80 kilometers (around two hours by road) from ancient Silk Road city of Khiva, making it a perfect desert extension to a cultural journey through Uzbekistan. The site consists of several fortresses and smaller ruins, inviting visitors to explore on foot, walk along ancient walls, and enjoy gentle desert hikes. Camel rides across the sands and sunset views, when the fortresses glow in warm shades of red and amber, are among the most memorable experiences.
