Ron Klausner and Family, June 2016
My wife, son and daughter in law and I toured Uzbekistan for 10 days. I had no idea what to expect…It was a wonderful trip! The people were warm and inviting, safety was no issue whatsoever, the sights were magnificent and the food was diverse and delicious. Zulya planned the perfect amount of time for us in each city. We went to Khiva (the walled city), Bukhara (another old walled city), Samarkand (a blend of old and new) and Tashkent (a surprising metropolis).
Zulya arranged for us to have lunch with her family in Bukhara. It was amazing! Her mother taught my son how to make Plov. The lunch was a true feast with about 20 family members. After lunch we all got up and danced together. It was an experience my wife, son, daughter in law and I will cherish forever.
Zulya also arranged for a wonderful guide to accompany us throughout Uzbekistan. She was flexible if we wanted to stay longer or shorter at any stop and she was with us day and night, shared meals and her culture and helped us navigate a very foreign language. Needless to say, Zulya kept tabs on us during our entire stay, keeping in touch us and our local guide. Any problems (very minor) were immediately addressed. I would not only highly recommend Zulya Rajabova and Silk Road Treasure Tours to anyone planning a trip to Uzbekistan.
I would also recommend Uzbekistan as a travel destination. My only fear is that if too many tourists discover Uzbekistan it may change!
