What are you doing for New Year's next March?!

While we eagerly anticipate signs of spring here in the northeast, the folks in Central Asia gear up for one of their biggest festivals of the year. Springtime and the solstice means New Years, or Navruz in these regions, and what a party!

I'll soon be posting photos from this year's Navruz in Uzbekistan as I travel there to be with travelers, family and friends and I'll look forward to sharing the fun with you in person next year!  Come and enjoy the festivities with me and my extended family in Bukhara in 2017 as part of a fabulous trip to explore Uzbekistan. Mid-March 2017 will be our departure date to celebrate Navruz and discounts are available right now for travelers who wish to join us for this 10 day journey to one of the most interesting destinations on the Silk Road.

The whole country comes out to party showing off its finery with brilliant national costumes, lively music and dance performances, sports and games and handicraft displays.

Join me and my local experts to discover Uzbekistan's soaring minarets, Silk Road  bazaars, and majestic mosques at the height of the celebratory season. Enjoy adventure, sightseeing, shopping and round-the-clock Navruz festivities from the vibrant capital city of Tashkent to the fabled cities of Bukhara and Samarkand of the Silk Road. This is once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to rejoice in springtime in this land of incredible hospitality. Grab some sumulyak, don your doppi, and join the locals in Uzbekistan to bring in a New Year like never before!

Highlights of the Tour Include:

  • Attendance at one of the major Navruz festivals and other cultural events
  • Dinner with Uzbek family in Bukhara and the opportunity to make fresh bread in a tandur oven
