"What can you offer families for Uzbekistan tours post-pandemic?'' Several of my travelers have asked this recently. My answer is "Add the Sarmishsai Gorges and Bukhara Oasis Resort to your itinerary!"
I traveled to Uzbekistan several times during this past year to work with my in-country team. We reviewed all our tours then planned new tour itineraries that would offer safe locations and activities for tours in 2021.
During my trip in April this year, my team and their families including our young Uzbekistan travel ambassadors (ages 7-17) visited the newest attractions in Uzbekistan.
We all enjoyed the Sarmishsai Gorge - Caves and Camp Resort near the magical 11th c. Sardoba water reserve. This spectacular place is located about an hour and a half from the Bukhara which is one of the best-loved cities for our travelers.
We spent the short road trip listening to beautiful music whilst running a trivia contest about the sites and cities of Uzbekistan. Then some young travelers shared stories about their favorite hobbies and memories.
On arrival at one of the Sarmishsai camps we all went to see the nearby waterfall, then we split up: some rushed to play sports in the open spaces. Some played the Doira under shady trees. Others joined us for an unforgettable hike on the Sarmishsai mountain followed by an exploration of its caves. Soon we were all hungry and keen to join the chef to make Uzbekistan shish kabob and sweets.
The camp has all the conveniences for adults and children, including a charming playground for the younger kids. There are beautiful fruit and vegetable gardens where during the harvest season guests can pick their own vegetables for dinner. This location offers day trips from Bukhara and overnight stays in comfortable villas.
Sarmishsai National Park-Museum houses a trove of ancient cultural monuments, it is a must-see destination for family travel, perfect for all ages. You can explore Bronze Age Petroglyphs, enjoy the natural beauty of the area, and feel the warm hospitality of local Sarmishsai villages.
Our Silk Road Treasure Tours experts offer you plenty of safe family fun in Uzbekistan following Covid 19 guidelines. We have done all the preparation to ensure you will meet the Uzbekistan government "Safe Travel Guaranteed program" which outlines the travel restrictions and protections.
Looking to travel safely and experience fun family adventures this summer? We recommend travel to Uzbekistan. Visit Bukhara, Khiva, Samarkand and of course hike and play in the Sarmishsai Gorge, the Tianshan mountains, or Aydarkul Lake. Camp under the stars or to stay in a nomadic yurt. Enjoy camel rides, swimming, fishing, cooking, and sports, games and visits with local kids. Take home your own family memories of Uzbekistan.
